Hello there! We’re back… kind of. The last few months for everyone on planet Earth have been very similar on some levels. For us to operate at Bottomley Opticians safely we are adapting and relearning the way we can deliver high-quality niche eyewear and the best possible service for you.
One at a time
In line with government safety guidelines and our own common sense, we have vastly reduced the number of appointments and extended these to enable us to only see one client at a time. This allows us to do the eye exam and talk through all of your eyewear needs where our attention is on you and your safety. For some time now the College of Optometrists have guidelines in place that a client should have an eye exam where they buy their glasses. This puts you in a much easier position to quickly correct the situation should any discrepancies arise with the prescription given and the lenses made up in the spectacles. This is even more important now as it also ensures the least amount of contact with different people to get the same job done.
Booking in
When you talk with us on the phone prior to coming to see us please tell us everything you’re needing. If you need new glasses then have a think about what shape and style you’re wanting to have a look at. We will then have a small selection of frames for you to try at your appointment based on this information. Each frame is disinfected and cleaned for you so we no longer have a ” browsing style “ but a tailor-made experience and our clients have found this to be really helpful in the decision making process.
When you arrive, the door will be locked but we will be expecting you and we ask that you come wearing a mask. All of us will be wearing a mask or a face shield for your safety and ours so we would appreciate the same from you. Please keep your distance from the desk with the markers on the floor. We have hand sanitisers for you to use on arrival and we can still have your tea/coffee ready the way you like it and it will be in our eco disposable cups.
Eye exam
All our optometrists will be inappropriate PPE and will take special care to adapt to the new ways of performing a thorough examination. It is important to bring in all the eyewear that you currently use and this helps us understand exactly what you are needing visually in all the different situations you live your life.
Eyewear consultation
We have a glass screen in between you and our eyewear expert and we will be able to go through exactly what options will be best for you based around the results of your eye exam and the collection of frames we selected from the conversation on the phone with you. In most cases, we have found that by us listening to YOU we’ve managed to pick out the best frames that you love. Don’t worry though if we haven’t managed to pick the ‘’Ones” that were in your mind ( sometimes we need another go). We will be talking with you and really understand all your needs and show you more until you see and try on your perfect match!
